Postcards: True Stories That Never Happened nominated for Eisner!

Just heard that Postcards: True Stories That Never Happened has been nominated for the 2008 Best Anthology Eisner Award .

For those who don't know, I was the assistant editor on this book, and I also supplied the short story "Cora's Dress" so this is very exciting news. I'll have to go vote...

Awesome b2k. I've not been around much lately. What is going on for you on the career front? I don't remember much since your posting about Postcards that got me to pre-order a copy.

My "career" is building slowly. I'm just now pitching a book called DEAR SANTA, LET ME EXPLAIN... It's a collection of true Christmas disasters I'm editing. It's going very, very slowly in part because I'm trying to produce a book that's both illustrated essays and sequential comic stories. I'm confident it will sell, just not as quickly as I'd hoped.

I'm editing a few other projects, too, and working on my own graphic novel, but with a full time job, nothing happens quickly.

Small steps though. The Postcards nomination is huge, though.

If it won, would you be an eisner award winner or would all the credit go elsewhere?

The award would certainly go to Jason Rodriguez, the editor on the book. As the assistant editor, I only get the warm fuzzies associated with being a part of an Eisner winning book. However, the book's an anthology, and as someone who also supplied a story, I can make that Eisner winning connection a little stronger.

If you need someone to illustrate, I'm an aspiring artist.
