Flash Creative Team News!
This news just posted over at CBR, but I thought we should discuss here too. Preliminary report.
The Fastest Man Alive series is being canceled effectively with #13. There will be a one-shot known as All-Flash #1 written by Mark Waid and then a relaunch picking up with Flash #231. This apparently picks up where the series left off pre-Infinite Crisis. See the links below for more info. If I'm linking to something that's a no no, just edit it out. People can look it up all over the web now I'm sure.

Here's an interview with Mark Waid about returning to Flash.

Ugh. I can tell you this...something's going to happen in Flash (i'm going to "assume" Bart's going to die). DC is making ALL COPIES of an upcoming issue (I wish I could care enough to remember the issue number) fully returnable. So, i'm thinking they're going to pull a Marvel and kill him off.
However, UNLIKE Marvel, they're actually letting retailers in on it...instead of gouging fans on fleaBay.

I've been reading The Flash but it's been a "ho hum" experience. I can't even say I'm all that excited about this news.

Thank god. I hate the current run with Bart. In its roots, The flash comics were a fun comic to read and Bart was a fun character to read about. They managed to make a fun character on a fun comic book not be fun at all. Which is a shame.
Thank goodness waid is coming back. If it wasn't Johns, I'd pick Waid all the way to write.

From Newsarama:
Asked how Mark Waid knew (in his Newsarama interview) a year ago that he would be coming back to The Flash, DiDio said that the plan with the Flash had been in the works for a long, long time, and Marc Guggenheim knew from the start of his run on the series that he was only on for a limited time.
"We also employed some misdirection to keep people guessing."
Hmm. Not sure how much of that I believe. Thats its been 2 years in the making. Just seems like they had a series a lot of people didn't like.

Of all of this, I was saddest to see how it kind of robbed Bart of his character. I'm not reading the Flash, so I can't speak to its quality, but I can easily say Bart still had some quality time left to spend with the Teen Titans. He wasn't anywhere close to stale having just matured into Kid Flash.
I'm more curious to see what this means for Bart, instead of whomever it brings back (if anyone).

Amazing how Infinite Crisis pretty much destroyed, in my eyes, every member of Young Justice that wasn't already relegated to obscurity.

Ha, no kidding. Superboy, who was already ripped from the fun parts he once was got offed. Bart was tossed into adulthood. Robin was already dealing with emo-ness from Identity Crisis and Cassie was now just all sorts of post-superboy loss depression.

After reading the issue.. did they really have to do that to bart? Fuck man. this blows. Young Justice really got crapped on pretty badly.

I think the book is going to bounce back now, which is good. Flash books have a history of being incredibly solid to great reads, and it's a shame that was tarnished with the OYL mess.

It's not that I don't like Wally, but c'mon. Bart's corpse isn't even cold yet, and they bring him back.
Talk about getting pissed all over..
