I can't decide between Batman and Thor.

For me it comes down to two. Thanos and Galactus. I always like the super-powerful Marvel characters. I grew up tending to prefer Marvel over DC and always liked Spidey, Thor and The Hulk. DC wise it would have to be Batman i guess.

batman. my friends laugh when i tell them how awesome i thought knightfall was. i even own the novel adaptation (not the graphic novel).

spider-man was my fave growing up, but like many have already said, his character has become pretty inconsistent over the past 2-3 years. it just doesnt "feel" like the spidey i knew growing up. weird.

as far as indy press (if you still consider Slave Labor Graphics "indy") i would die for a new Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic from Jhonen Vasquez. what the hell has he been doing with himself since Invader Zim got cancelled?

My favorite character from earliest memory to about ten years ago was Swamp Thing.

I don't really keep up enough with "character" comics to know if this is still true. I mainly follow writers now.

Although I'm a much bigger fan of the Marvel universe, for one favorite character I'd probably have to go with Superman.

Storm...Bootilicious and can control weather...what's not to love.
Colossus..big ass metal Russian...cool. BTW, he needs long hair....

Every issue since the 60s? Congrats!

I may someday have every issue of the Justice League (not counting the last 5 years or so).

My favorite comic book character is neither a superhero nor villain. My favorite is J. Jonah Jameson. Call me crazy but the JJJ scenes in the Spider-man movies were the best scenes IMO. I thought the actor nailed the character perfectly.

JJJ was never a big deal to me until J.K. Simmons brought him to life in the movies.

Even though his current post Infinite Crisis storyline has been less than stellar, one of my all-time favorite characters has been Nightwing/Dick Grayson/Robin.

Probably stems back to my youth when my older brother and cousins got to be Batman or Superman, but I'd end up being Robin.

After that, I'd go with Daredevil.

I can't nail it down to just one, but I will say that I do love me some Black Canary. When she's written right (she's been lucky to have some good people telling her stories), she is one of the most awesome and dynamic characters DC has. I think DC should focus, like Marvel has, on making some lower budget movies and BC would be a perfect character for such a vehicle.

I'm also a complete and total Batman whore, but the Batman I love is from the cartoon and not the comics.

The O'Neil/Adams version of Batman. IMHO, the definitive version which everyone has been using for the last 40 years.

Thanks, years of going through the cheap bin at shows. The first six and 181 cost a bit no matter what ya do though. Still haven't read the whole thing...I started a bit before the Peter david run. I just bought the Origins statue.
Good with the JL my brother is woking his way through them as well, although he is more than satisfied with the DC Archives for early issues.

Three way tie between Sandman, Death, and Hellboy.
