That's not entirely true; there were events in Amazing Spider-Man that rolled directly into CW. Just like you had to get the Sacrifice arc to understand OMAC last year during the Countdown.

Wow, just typing that made me realize how much I know about this. I need to quit.

That having been said, I recommend heartily the Identity Crisis series from a few years back. It's what got me back into comics. Good stuff.

Can you give me more details on the Identity Crisis series? Was there any related issues aside from the seven issue run? I've also heard good things about that series as well.
