Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I already have all the ones I want on that list. But I got them at low prices anyway. I don't think I have ever paid for an omnibus over 50% off.

The Stan Lee Treasury edition is huge and bad ass.

There is a Muppet Babies Omnibus???

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I went to a garage rummage sale earlier today and i was surprised to see a small pile of old comic books mostly random issues of Adventures of Superman, a few issues of old Amazing Spider-Man and the 1990s Spider-Man series along with Wolverine solo series from the 1990s and even a couple of old DC Comics Warlord.

The only bad thing about those old comics is that they didnt have their front and back covers but i still ended up getting one issue of Amazing Spider-Man and an issue of old Uncanny X-Men. Issue 262 I think of old Uncanny X-Men

I used to dream as a kid of coming across some garage sale with stacks of early Silver Age comics being sold under $1, sold by an owner that didn't know what they had. It usually worked the other way - garage sales thought every issue was worth Action Comics #1 prices.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

i went back to that garage sale yesterday since it was my birthday. Found couple more random old issues. Found issue 79 of Warlord.

the rest were pretty much junk filler issues i guess of Adventures of Superman.

i also bought 1990s Spider-Man # 3 at that garage sale. The Lament story arc involving Lizard that started the debut of the 1990s Spider-Man comic

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I love Twomorrows stuff and don't want them to fold so I am posting this here for anyone to read:

TwoMorrows needs your help!

Just as our 25th Anniversary book and six new magazines were about to go on sale, our distributors, comics shops and bookstores all shut down due to the pandemic. We were left with huge losses from unsellable copies that had to be destroyed, printing bills to pay, and no idea when we'll start receiving payments again.

You can read the full details by downloading our new 2020 Update Flyer at this link. But in a nutshell, our immediate future depends on our loyal webstore and mail order customers.

Here's three ways to help us stay in business!

#1: Subscribe for a half-year!

At this link, we’re temporarily offering less expensive half-year print and digital subscriptions, which let you support us for the short-term, then go back to purchasing at your local store as they reopen over the next few months.

#2: Order back issues at 40% off!

Download our new 2020 Digital Catalog at this link to get most of our older magazine issues at 40% off for a limited time! And get the World of TwoMorrows 25th Anniversary book to go behind-the-scenes of your favorite publications!

#3: Tell your friends!

Even if you can't place an order now, please spread the word about TwoMorrows on social media! Every print and digital order helps keep the World of TwoMorrows spinning!

Sincerely,

John Morrow, publisher

TwoMorrows Publishing

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Good deal guys. I would hate to see them go under. Their magazines and books are the best. I dropped Alter Ego a couple of years ago since I was getting Back Issue! and their new Retro magazine but to support them, I went back and bought all the Alter Ego magazines I missed since my sub ran out and I am thinking about resubscribing to it to help out. I already have all their books so nothing to buy there.

I actually have every Alter Ego (now from that order) and every Back Issue! published. It is a huge collection and a wealth of knowledge. I will be dead before I read them all because I deep read them and it takes me forever to finish just one magazine it seems.

I love them but their website feels like a wayback machine and I'm not too keen on downloading an interactive pdf just to peruse their catalog.

edited to add: oh ok at least you can just blow up the image of their catalog and browse it that way.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I swung by an Ollie's for the first time in months and months. It looked like they had gotten in some Star Wars-related trades, including Epic Collections. They are finally running low on the Marvel/DC trades they acquired in the warehouse liquidation. They did get some new packs of random back issues, 5 comics for $5.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Pretty great deal for DC trades from Zavvi. You pick ten from a list of over 50 books and get all ten for 34.99. Shipping runs about 10. I'm pretty sure these are all UK trades. Many big names, including Kingdom Come and Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow. Not so great for me, because I already own most of the list.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Thanks for posting the Zavvi deal. Had never seen the 'DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection' line before, but quickly figured out that it was a foreign publication (Eaglemoss) after looking at some Youtube videos.Took a shot at it and ordered 10 books. Sucks that they split some storylines into 2 books (Kingdome Come, New Frontier, Birthright, Quiver, etc) but I already have those books anyway.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

At that price it would be silly to skip this deal. Even with some of the titles spread over two books.

$48.11 total shipped for the 10 titles. Even if some of them are split in two like that it's still a great deal.

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Justice League of America: The Nail Graphic Novel - Volume 24
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Green Arrow: Quiver Part 1 - Volume 37
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Green Arrow: Quiver Part 2 - Volume 38
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - The Flash: The Return of Barry Allen - Volume 48
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Justice League of America: Another Nail - Volume 49
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow - Volume 63
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Shazam/Superman: First Thunder - Volume 68
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.44

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Invasion - Special Edition 10
Quantity: 1 Cost: $5.40

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - The Flash Lightning in a Bottle
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.66

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Flash

Hell, even if I only like half of them I'll be happy with this deal.

Yep I picked it up too, thanks for the post! Didn't get the Nail because I just read that on Comixology.
Last time I ordered from Zavvi (the ten shirts for 40$) they arrived quicker than I expected and I was happy with the buy.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

OK, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to get a lot of stuff really cheap, so...

...order #2.

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Superman/Batman: Supergirl - Volume 21
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - Justice League of America/JSA: Virtue and Vice - Volume 64
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection - JSA: The Golden Age - Volume 69
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.61

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection JSA: Justice Be Done
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Kingdom Come Part 1
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Kingdom Come Part 2
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Legends
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.92

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Teen Titans
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Wonder Woman Part 1
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection Wonder Woman Part 2 Vol.99
Quantity: 1 Cost: $3.83

I know that these are fairly short books (4-7 comics per book), but for that price it's still a smokin' deal. I've just been ramping up my DC collecting, and since I buy 95% of my stuff in collections (TPB, HC), this is perfect for me. And if I don't like a particular book, I can ebay it and get my money back out of it (maybe even make a small profit). The risk here is low given the price per book. I can't wait to get them!

Thanks for the head's up, Phantom Stranger!

Ollie's has a 15% off everything sale this week. Went to mine yesterday and picked up some nice trades for less than $3 each.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Zavvi order #1 came today - only 3 1/2 days after ordering it!

And the books are really nice. No dust covers, but the printing on the hardcovers is so nice it isn't missed (and, actually, makes reading the books a little easier). This was a great deal!

A good deal for UK members (not so much for US ones w/the shipping)

Amazon UK has the second Alan Moore Swamp Thing Absolute up for pre-order at just over £28. MSRP is £80.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I swung by Ollie's and came across some trades I hadn't seen there, including a very cool New 52 DC Poster book for only $2.99. Also picked up trades of Ostrander's Suicide Squad for under $4 and a golden age Superman trade. They also had a giant, and I mean giant, hardcover book on how to draw Deadpool for something crazy like $6. I had no interest in learning how to draw the character, so passed it up. But it definitely looked cool.

I stopped by Ollies yesterday and saw the Walking Dead Compendiums 1 through 4 for $9.99 each. The poster books in my store were for WWE, the Hobbit and World of Warcraft. The also had a bag of 10 random books (including many 90s Image and Valiant books) for $6.99 and 5 packs of Marvel or DC for $4.99 each.

Yes it is. They retail for $60 each. I know Image had a ton of these in their warehouse so they must have sold them to Ollies for around $2-4 each.
