Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Bedrock City Comics in Houston is having it's yearly spring sale this Friday through Sunday, May 16 through 18. Everything is at least 25 percent off, and sometimes as much as 75 percent off. It's really one of the best sales I've ever found.

Shipping from there has been slow this month, I ordered a group on 5/17 that shipped on 5/29 and a group on 5/24 that hasn't shipped yet...

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Maybe I'm beginning to get a handle my OCD hoarding/collecting.

I went thru the sale items above, had several hundred dollars worth of stuff in my cart, but never clicked "purchase".

Thanks though, some great stuff in that sale.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

ivelostr2: During these big sales it takes a lot longer to get the order. From some other forums it sounds like the more you order book # the longer it takes. Mine will be awhile before it ships out.

Trevor: I should have done that also, I ended up wishlisting a lot of stuff thinking it would be OOS on Sunday morning but when I got there one one thing was out. Order would have been over $200 I pulled a lot and kept to my basic collection and that was around $80.

Should end up about $16 after 15% coupon and 12% Bing cashback.

Jeez, I paid 40 bucks for this used just a few months back and thought it was a good deal.

That is an amazing deal. It almost makes me want to buy another one.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

It really is a fantastic deal, $150 list for ~$16.

Sadly, this reminds me that pretty much everything I've ever bought at full price or even half price, could have been cheaper if I had waited.

I'm trying to think of an example where I'm glad i didn't wait, and I'm coming up empty.

Edit to add: And big thanks again to Meatwad for posting this deal. I was just browsing the comic forum yesterday and remarked to myself how dead this thread has sadly been the past 6 months.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Thanks Trevor, I don't always remember to post deals here, most of the time I don't think anybody was reading them. I know what you mean about getting books, I almost never buy a book for more than 50% of cover price.

Got the Mad book today it's huge, I didn't think it was this big or heavy around 15 lbs and looks beautiful. I forgot about check Bing before ordering but I've been waiting for the book to show up under $50 so I still got a great deal.

Couple of other deals going on.
http://milehighcomics.com/
is having a 1/2 off sale on DC archives and some Marvel and Dark Horse TPBs and Hardcovers. No Omnibuses (except Dark Horse) or absolutes in the sale.

www.gohastings.com has an amazing deal going on right now on graphic novels- as well as have a 30% off sale on used books with the HASTINGS code, this Fri/Sat Feb 12/13 you get a buy 3 get the 4th graphic novel free. I ordered 6 books, got 2 free ($7+ shipping, but still cheaper than ordering them indivdually anywhere else).

I got some really great deals too like Sleeper S1 for $8.75- the cheapest everywhere else had it was ~$14+.

TFAW.com is have a 70% off sale you can get there through the first page. I just did an order of about $250 mostly Star Wars to start filling in my collection. A lot of stuff is nick and dent, I've only had very minor problems with the nick and dent stuff, most still looking better than I find on book store shelves.
Free shipping over $25 with code (good till Feb. 28): RESOLUTION
$10 off International (min. $45): LANGSYNE

Amazon has most of the Marvel Omnibuses, as well as several non-Marvel Omnibus-like books for $14.99 right now.

Madman Gargantua, Criminal (Deluxe Edition), and Complete Invincible are included. I picked up the first two, plus Invincible Iron Man Omnibus and Death of Captain America Omnibus, for
