Hey fujishig, I just did the same exact thing...and damn if this book isn't awesome! Much like BoP, this book puts its characters first. Crappy art changes aside (the art wasn't crappy - but having so many artists in such a short time was) this is going to be one of my most anticipated Marvel titles now. Madrox is one interesting character.
Still working my way through the Bone massive volume. Story is pretty good, but I'm a little underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying it, but some of the main plot threads are a bit dull to me. That could change when I've read the whole thing, but right now I would put the book at a solid B for quality because it is good, but not the A+++ I've been groomed to expect.

52 #41 - So Charlie died?
Ant #10
Astonishing X-Men #20 - Better than the last few have been. Not that that's saying anything...
Batman #663 - Hey! Someone forgot to put the pictures in my comic book! All I see are words...
Friday the 13th #3
Ghost Rider #8
JLA Classified #34
Justice Society Of America #3 - Awesome book. I love Johns.
Martian Manhunter #7
New Excalibur #16 - I wanna quit this book, but i'm going to give Claremont the benefit of the doubt...for a little while.
OMAC #8 - What a crappy way to end this mini. Hell, we couldn't even get Renato to draw the final issue? They really should have these things finished before soliciting.
Sensational Spider-Man #35 - Nope, no black suit explanation here either..
Wolverine Origins #11 - Not bad. I like it.

I gave up on Definitive Shi and picked up Superman: Emperor Joker, which I liked only slightly more than Shi (which was nil).
While it was written by 4 or more different writers it felt like the kind of Jeph Loeb story I've come to know and hate. The world's been turned upside down and there's no explanation. Sure, I understand that's supposed to be the mystery, c'mon, the first three issues were essentially the same, with Superman, the world's most hated criminal, escaping from prison only to be captured by Bizzaro, the world's favorite hero.
And speaking of mysteries, who was Ignition? They made a point to create a mystery around his identity and then never revisited it.
Trying to get away from superheroes for awhile, so I just cracked open Little Nemo in Slumberland 1905 - 1914.

WoW!! What a great comic book day (quality as much as quantity). Since there was so much awesome stuff it was worth a post.
Today I picked up. . .
52 Week #42 - Gotta say I didn't see that coming. Unlike the total crap-fast that is Civil War, we actually get a pretty significant
Still diggin' the hell out of 52 & hopefully this issue will have some follow up story in the new Dr. Fate series.
Aquaman Sword Of Atlantis #49
Birds Of Prey #103 - Never a bad issue with this book, although I'm soooo far behind reading it.
Brave And The Bold #1 - Picked up both covers b/c I'm a dork like that. Really enjoyed this first issue, Waid is my favorite pure-superhero writer (even more than Johns) & Perez always rules. This was just great old-school comic goodness, something you need after all the dark mega-events both companies put out. You can tell Waid is going to have some fun with this series.
Catwoman #64 -
Checkmate #11 - Soooooooo underrated it's a shame.
DMZ #16 - This current story line is excellent.
Ex Machina Inside The Machine Vol 1 - Picked it up although I've soured very much on this series.
Helmet Of Fate Black Alice #1 - This one-shots have really got me psyched for the new series.
Robin #159 - Beechen's (sp?) run has been really good on this book.
Shadowpact #10 - Even more underrated & great than Checkmate. Buy this damn book people!!!! Try something good.
Spirit #3 - This comic is glorious. I don't even get how anyone can not buy Cooke doing the Spirit.
Superman #659 - Just diggin' the shit out of the Supes titles right now. I now it's not trendy, I know it's cooler to hate on the man of steel. But I never have (well only the horrid recent film). And this books sucked for so long, it's great to see them good again.
Testament #15
Wonder Woman #4- Haven't read anything from the relaunch yet, but it looks awesome, I can't wait to.
Elephantmen #7
Invincible #39
Annihilation Book 1 HC - I didn't get to finish this epic when it initially came out, but what I read was great. I always liked Marvel's space stuff & what I read this event derserved the hype Civial War received. Looking foward to having all the hardcovers.
Immortal Iron Fist #3 - ehhhh. Not bad, don't really get the feeling Bru is that involved in this book.
New Avengers Illuminati #2 - New Avengers sucks hard IMO, but Cheung is one of my favorite artists, & Infinity Gauntlet to this day (after Valiant's Unity belive it or not) is my favorite major comic book event, so I had to get this.
Conan #37 - What an awesome cover. And what a great, great comic.
Sock Monkey The Inches Incident #3 - Tony Millionair rules. What a great talent. I may be the only person reading this book, & I love every panel of it.
Wasteland #7 - I just can't recommend this book enough. If anyone ever reads my ramblings you must give this book a shot. It's everything comics need.
MY IF-YOU-CAN-ONLY-BUY-1-BOOK-THIS-WEEK PICK OF THE WEEK!!!
Brit Vol 1 Old Soldier TP
"Meet the government’s last line of defense when it comes to the really messy parts of keeping the world safe... BRIT. When super-powered menaces threaten our home soil, send in Brit. Brit is a one man killing machine, indestructible, unstoppable... and eligible for a senior citizen’s discount. Now presented in FULL-COLOR!"
This book was soooooo much fun when it first came out. Kirkman wasn't really a name yet & it was in black & white in a series of prestige format one-shots so most missed it. It's just all kinds of fun & action, really a great read & it looks even better in color with amazing art by Tony Moore.

I really enjoyed Brave & Bold #1. I'm curious as to where it sits in continuity, though, as Bruce was way too chummy with Hal. Last I knew, Bruce still didn't trust Hal after the Parellax incident.
So what kind of rotating cast are we going to see? The teaser for the next issue says Superman / Green Lantern.

This has been a huge DC month for me. I'm reading Wonder Woman, JSA, JLA, Batman, The Spirit, The Brave & The Bold, and almost all of the Vertigo titles.
I picked up Wonder Woman #4 this past week against my better judgment, but I enjoyed it after I remembered what had been going on in the title. Plus, I'm a sucker for Terry Dodson's artwork.
JSA is just knocking my socks off with each issue - probably the best superhero comic I'm reading right now.
JLA is ok, but I have a feeling that this title will read much better in trade format because Meltzer seems to be writing his comics in the style of a novel.
Batman, I realize, isn't for everyone. I'm a huge Grant Morrison fan and love the ideas he presents in his writing, but I can see how many people can think it's pretentious. Personally, I enjoyed this month's issue and can't wait to see where he goes from here. (BTW, does anyone know if there are any plans to interrupt his run again with some fill-in issues, or was that 4-part storyarc just a one-time deal?)
The Spirit was just incredible this month, probably the best issue I've read of the new incarnation, including the masterful Batman/The Spirit one-shot.
The Brave & The Bold - George Perez. Mark Waid. 'Nuff said.

Just finished reading the fourth and final TPB for Morrison's Seven Soldiers... can someone tell me what in the world was going on? If I were following this monthly, I think I would have been even more confused, especially considering the delay with the final bookend issue. Is Morrison the one that created the whole concept of S.H.A.D.E. and Father Time? What in the world happened to the New Gods?

I really wish Moore and Kirkman would team up and put out one shots of Brit here and there. Kirkman is certainly a big enough name now that maybe more people will try it.

I picked up Marvel's Werewolf by Night one-shot. The werewolf story was so-so, but the secondary Frankenstein's monster story was really fantastic--great art and story, and worth the price of the book, IMO.

I haven't begun reading them yet, but for some reason I thought there was more coming.
