Brian K Vaughn news
Brian K. Vaughan, the lad behind such popular comic vehicles as “Runaways,” “Ultimate X-Men,” “Y:The Last Man,” “Ex-Machina” and others, has signed on the dotted line to be the new Executive Story Editor for ABC’s hit SF show “LOST”. Joss Whedon also recently stated that Vaughn was his pick to write four issues of the highly anticipated comic rendition for the eighth season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.
Th “Lost” gig had been rumored for some time but Brian has been tight-lipped and on his website he finally gave the reason behind his coyness, “I always like to wait until the contracts have been signed and the “first trimester” has been survived until I talk about stuff.”
Walking into the writer’s room of a major television studio was a new experience for Vaughn. What he learned in just a short time there opened his eyes to the pressures that series writers get put through on a regular basis, changing his outlook about the nature of creating product for the everchanging landscape of a television weekly production.
“I’ve learned more about the creative process in two weeks inside the Lost writers’ room than I did in four years at NYU’s film school,” admitted Vaughn. So, hopefully, this new challenge will push me to become a stronger writer and help my work to evolve.”

The article doesn't say much on how this affects his comic writing.

Yea for Lost. Maybe not so much for his comic fans.

On his blog he stated that the LOST writing staff are fans of his comic work and knows to give him enough time to write those. Also he has hinted at a new creator-owned work down the line (presumably a bit after Y ends).
But yea, great news! I wonder if he's to write whole episodes or just help out with bits and pieces.

Pretty awesome news, but who knows how much input he will actually have on Lost.
I wouldn't worry about his comic book work slowing down. Y is coming to an end very soon, as is his run on Runaways, so that frees up a lot of time right there.

I really am happy for the guy as BKV has put out consistently excellent work over the last few years.
I just hope Hollywood doesn't steal him away as most of his comic ideas seem like they would be no brainers tv shows or movies.
