What was the name of this comic book?
Many years ago I remember liking this comic book series that featured a gunslinger in the old west. I think he had a patch over one eye but I'm not sure. He was a Clint Eastwood / Josey Wales type badass. I'd like to track down a few of the comics but I can't recall the name. It was 25+ years ago.

Thanks. I'm going to see if I can find some early issues.

There were also three miniseries published by DC's Vertigo imprint in the early-mid 90s that were done by Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman. The concept was reimagined as a horror series with zombies and Lovecraftian influences. Very cool stuff.
The Vertigo concept for Jonah Hex was abandoned, possibly because of a lawsuit brought by Edgar and Johnny Winter, detailed here.

Yeah, they've already released a trade paperback featuring the first 6 issues from this series so you you can get that and if you like it, you can easily find the rest to catch up.

Anybody remember what issue of the original run had the story of his death? All I remember is that he was killed, got stuffed and put in a store as an attraction and - well, the ending was pretty cool so I won't give it away. Trying to find that issue - anybody know?

Was anyone ever bothered by Jonah Hex's "attached skin/mouth thingy?" As a kid I always imagined him yawning too big and causing a truly nasty accident with that thing. And how the hell does he eat a really large cheeseburger?
Yes...weird things bothered me as a child.
Has the skin thingy ever been explained?

yeah that old Jonah Hex stuff from the late 70`s and early 80`s was some twisted sick shit.So twisted that famous scifi author Harlan Ellison called then Jonah Hex author of those stories Michael Fleischer a Bugfuck which led to Jonah Hex writer Michael Fleischer sued, and lost to both Harlan Ellison and the Comics Journal for defamation of character. one of comic books great little secret treasures Jonah Hex. highly recommend.

Jonah Hex = True Badass
Two bad there was never a Jonah Hex/Harvey "Two-Face" Dent meeting.
