I have about 10 pieces of art, but half of those are commissions. The other half are small press books and "lesser known" artists (but I love 'em anyway).

I know, I know, this kind of stuff is impossible to keep up to date and usually very wordy, but I always liked it as a kid, because no way was I able to keep up with every single comic, and I found a lot of obscure heroes/villains I would otherwise never had heard about. Now where's my new Who's Who, DC? My binder's still a bit empty...

The new series is much like the ones that came out monthly for the last 2 years, with a thicker cover stock.
The essential ones - the first one you ordered was the original series, the next one solicited was the second series, which looks like it'll take 2 volumes (it was somewhat longer than the original series).
As for the Who's Who, I loved the loose-leaf version with the full spaslh page art. I made it a quest to get as many of them signed as possible, even though we don't get many of the participants around here. Mark Waid was the funniest one, as he wrote the text for a lot of regular ones and all of the 2 Impact Universe entries. I just left my binder with him and he signed a few at a time. Thankfully he was a nice guy about it.

For my recent haul, I averaged about $57/page including shipping, but the pricier pages go for a lot more, anywhere from $10-$700 or more if it's a cover.
I got:
BoP #60 page 17
BoP #61 page 5
BoP #61 page 14
BoP #61 page 22
BoP #62 page 15

Patman, that is awesome! I'm gonna have to save some money and pick up one of his pieces. But I'm sure they won't be "cheap" for long.
MBoyd, I think $2.50 is definitely doable. I just hope it's a worthy read. 52 issues in a year...that's a large commitment. Not that I have to buy all of 'em, but if they're good, it'll be worth it.

What is Benes working on now, anyway? I noticed in the last Previews, the Superman title seemed to be gone...

So i've been holding off on reading the "Crisis" main books and other comics that have "Cossover" on the cover so I can read them in one fell swoop and kind keep thing in order and I'm getting so behind. I just read the JSA with StarGirl(
) on the cover and even it mentions other events in the DCU. Dammit!!! Oh well, what are you gonna do...
BTW, why does Stargirl know "The Shade"? Isn't he a bad guy?

WW #125 was a bit dull for a second-to-last issue.

Giantrobo, I can't help you out. Don't even know who Shade is. Hopefully someone else knows the answer...

If you haven't read James Robinson's work on "Starman", I highly recommend picking up the trades. If you like "JSA", I really think that you'll enjoy "Starman", as well.

I was just reading that we won't be seeing any 52 trades during 2006. It sounds like they're waiting until it's done (I think).
If you're "waiting for the trade", it could be a long wait!

Don't come in late.
Either you'll need to buy back issues or wait.
An argument can be made (whether you agree with it or not) that "waiting for the trade" can kill monthlies with low audiences. Granted, that's not going to happen with 52, but maybe DC wants to start putting the focus of the fan back on monthlies and what better way than the biggest buzz title?

I think DC has made the right move with 52. Think about it. It's weekly, so if fans want to stay on top of the story and be able to talk with their buddies, they have to hit the shops every week. To some degree, monthlies have been dying slowly. Maybe the "weekly" will inject some excitement back into the serialized books.
