What are you reading - Comic Book
So I'm curious, what's everyone else reading for comics these days?
What are your faves, and what is your TOP book?
Also, what book do you think others should be reading?
Even though my choices are mostly your standard costumes & capes fare, this topic is open to disscussion of ANY current comic book.
Here's mine...
DC
JSA - and this would be my TOP book, as well as what I think everyone should be reading. Great charcters, great stories,a nd great artwork - evreything a great comic book should be.
Hawkman - really like what's happening in this series since it was re-vamped.
Nightwing
Green Lantern
Flash
Teen Titans
Outsiders
Wonder Woman
Supergirl
JSA Classified
Infinite Crisis
WILDSTORM
Authority : Revolution
Majestic
Capton Atom - mini series, haven't picked it up this week yet, but looks like it should be a good read,
MARVEL
Daredevil
Astonishing X-Men
Supreme Power - and off shoots Nighthawk and Hyperion
Ultimates 2
Ultimate Spiderman
I may have forgotten a few, but that's mostly it.

Okay, here's my list of comics I still deem good enough to collect in non-tpb form:
DC:
JSA (hey, it's unanimous): I've always been a fan of the JSA (hey, who else collected the short-lived Parobeck series?), but this series goes above and beyond just pure fandom. But for the pure DC history geek, this series is a must. The only thing is, I'm sure it reads a lot better in collected form... I just can't wait that long for it. I mean, Silver Scarab became Dr. Fate in the first few issues! Obsidian, Nuklon (Atom Smasher), that bird guy, Fury... it's Infinity Inc..
JSA classified: Hey, more JSA. Plus, finally, Powergirl's origin. Maybe. The unholy love child of Orion and Superman's aunt? who knows?
Teen Titans: I've always been a fan of the titans, minus that Jurgens run. I kinda liked Young Justice, and was sad to see that go to start up this book, but this is leaps and bounds better than the last Titans incarnation (which i thought started off strong, then meandered). Which is odd, because I absolutely hated the miniseries that led up to this. Although the Liefeld issues are ugh.
Legion of Superheroes: I've always been a Legion fan... well, I have. I love the Legion. This isn't my Legion, but hey, I can live with it because it's Waid and Kitson, and it takes a lot of chances. I would love for them to go a while without the reboots, though.
Superman/Batman: man, that's a lot of DC books. I've always liked Mcguinness, though I still think Wieringo has him beat. Should still be World's Finest, and I have no idea what's going on with the recent storyline, but I enjoy this book.
Supergirl: Haven't read this one yet, and I'm still not sure Churchill's the right fit for this, but hey, it's Supergirl.
Superman/Shazam miniseries: I'm a sucker for Captain Marvel.
Infinite Crisis: still haven't recieved the first issue, but I'll collect this, and then double dip on the inevitable collection, if only because I collect these other DC books and I have a feeling I'll have no clue what's going on without this miniseries.
Marvel comics: I feel like every single one of their comics works better in trade format. I did collect the Waid/Ringo issues of FF, though.
Image:
Savage Dragon: When Larsen took over Spiderman, I thought he was a bad McFarlane clone. His art still isn't top notch or anything, but I like the fact he loves his character so much that he's the only Image founder still publishing his own book. That, and the tpbs come out too erratically for me... I still want to catch up on the story, but they've only released tpbs 1-7, 10, 15, etc., or something like that. Plus, he has one of the last letter columns in comics.
Invincible: I want to get this monthly, I really do... can someone tell me when the next jumping on point is, so I don't duplicate issues with the inevitable tpb? Argh...
Other:
Street Fighter: A guilty pleasure, and I think I'll switch to trades with the new series starting up.
I also randomly try whatever comics are discounted more than 50% at mailordercomics.com... just to try something new.

Well, I did, but I wanted something a bit more streamlined than that, I guess. This way we get a good look at what everyone's about, without having to go through all the other stuff, too.

IMNSHO there are at least enough comicbook threads on particular titles/topics without another "current reading" one. The "original" stays. Anyone from this one wishing to copy across their posts into it please go ahead.
PS) I'm open to suggestion apropos of ensuring that everyone gets their say on their favourite reading material without crowding regular books off the front page of the forum.
