It's still a great, great read. Good for anyone, but especially rewarding for old-time fans.
Currently, I'm skipping most of the rail thin "collections" Marvel is coming out with these days, waiting for the HC that collects several of them, for a fraction more. And that B&N Ultimate Spiderman collection was the one that really kicked that obsession off (after previously being discouraged off of hardcovers by the expense of collecting the Legion archives)

I just read a Planetary TPB featuring 3 crossovers. It was interesting. Who is this Planetary?

There's an homage to early pulp heroes, a ghost story, godzilla, the matrix, how silver-age heroes would be welcomed into today's world, a frightening incarnation of the fantastic four all told in pretty much stand alone single issues stories, with an underlying ongoing story in the background. To me, it's one of the best "superhero" comics coming out today, and my only complaint is there's such a looong wait between issues. When I get my box of comics for the month, it's more like a pleasant surprise when I get Planetary, since I can never keep up with when it's released. And it's also one of the few that I don't wait for the trade, even though I know one will eventually be released.

There are at least 3 TPBs for Planetary (6 issues each), and it's a nice way to blow through the title, and have the inter-twining threads come into focus more if you read it within a few days of one another. IIRC, it's up to issue #23.
