Nope, there was a thread about it over on Newsarama, but the search function has been made differently abled.

Incase anyone else is interested in the Walden books deal, I called them and they said the Buy 2 get one free deal ends on April 24. They were charging $17 for Sin City #1 and #3 and $19 for #4. So it ends up $36, the same as Amazon for all 3 books. Plus sales tax eats away some of the coupon, so its not much of a deal.

Comics I feel are certainly under rated. I will admit that when I heard about comics I was not at all interested. Because like most people I was naive about the concept about a comic. I always thought that all comics were like archies. And then I shown that comics are like a script to a story. You get to read thier conversations and you get to know what the charcter is feeling and thinking. And you also get a picture. For me I think of it as a movie that I get to read the script for and draw my own conclusions in my head. Most people assume that comics are for children but believe me they are not. Some of the best comics ever written are made for adults. If you are trying to read a comic after seeing the movie sincity is the best one to do that for. Only because it is made in true comic fashion. If you have seen x-men or spider man, they are hollywood box office movies and really have no resemblement of a comic other then the story line. Just remember that a comic is not written the same way as a novel, but rather the unity of art and literature. Sincity is an excellent movie an excellent comic. And I would read the comic if you can get your hands on it. Other comics that are amazing that you should try are Preacher ( which is amazing) and Punisher on max which is totally ment for adults

Frank Miller's Sin City Library Set 1 HC - October 2005

From Darkhorse.com:
A collector's dream! Sin City fans the world over are clamoring for oversized archival editions of the legendary noir series from Frank Miller, and Dark Horse is rising to the occasion! In the tradition of the EC Library, these deluxe hardcovers measure 9" x 12", are printed on high-quality paper stock, and collect each original series along with the color series covers. The four hardcover volumes of set I are packaged in a handsomely designed slipcase-a long-awaited addition to the bookshelves of discriminating comics fans.

This slipcase holds volumes one through four of Sin City, the hard-boiled stories that started it all! Never before seen at this size, the now-infamous Marv, Dwight, Gail, Miho, Hartigan, Nancy, and the Yellow Bastard will transport you to Sin City and show you the bloody lives they lead... bloody by choice or by circumstance.

• Set I includes Sin City vols. 1-4: The Hard Goodbye, A Dame to Kill For, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard.

Any chance of a new story being written anytime in the near future?

Probably, they're going to film Sin City 2 and 3 back to back and it was rumored that Miller will be writing a new story or two for them.

Anyone know if that boxed set is limited in anyway? Or are they printing millions?

Certainly a nice set, but way overpriced, and I feel they're just milking the fans. First they do the 2nd edition paperbacks, and without warning do this a few months later.

I recently saw the movie & it made me really want to read the books. I saw this at amazon. Is that a pretty good deal for the whole collection or should I try to buy them used? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846

This is drool-inducing, but I already spend some good cash getting the second edition reissues. And these are $94.50 a pop over at Amazon. Goddamn...

A collector's dream! Sin City fans the world over are clamoring for oversized archival editions of the legendary noir series from Frank Miller and Dark Horse is rising to the occasion! In the tradition of the EC Library, these deluxe hardcovers measure 9" x 12", are printed on high-quality paper stock, and collect each original series along with the color series-covers. Frank Miller's Sin City is a triumph for its fiercely independent creator, and has been honored with Eisner awards, Harvey awards, and the prestigious National Cartoonists' Award.

This second Sin City slipcase completes our oversized archival editions, available only in these exceptional collections. The handsome 9"x12" slipcased edition features Frank Miller's atmospheric cover art from both the original trades as well as the original comics! Created with serious Frank Miller collectors and art connoisseurs in mind, these new archival editions are sure to satisfy!

Those are nice looking but $200 bucks??? Seems a little high to me. I will stick with $75 for the paperback set.

Bought and paid for the 1st set via dcbservice.com a few months back - had to upgrade the TPBs to the oversized HC format. Not that interested in the 2nd collection - I have the Art of Sin City and the stories, for the most part, in the second collection aren't as strong as those in the first.

I wonder why all the volumes are uniformly wide. Can someone explain this? I have the second-edition reissues, and they're all of different widths...

So anyone actually get these? I just got volume one and read the first 2 books. They are great and are worth the money if you are into this sort of thing. They are pricey, but what you get is high quality.

I never did get around to buying the complete set for 75 bucks at Amazon and am seriously considering the Library editions.

How do they compare? Is it worth the extra dough?

If you are asking about the Amazon exclusive books vs the hardback books then I would 100% go with the hardback if you have the money. I think the other books are the same as the one chapter you got with the Sin City special edition DVD. If so, I would pass on those as they are really small (the size of a DVD case in height). I almost bought those instead but am very glad I didn't now.
