Just got DC's NEW FRONTIER in yesterday's shipment as well. I notice it is Vol. 1. Is the rest of the material published just not compiled yet, or did Cooke end the mini-series in the middle to come back to later?
the hulk and punisher hardcover lines were discontinued. as for daredevil, AFAIK it's still going just very slowly. the new frontier is going to be split into two volumes. just as an aside, there is a great site for looking at trades and the like. www.tplist.com. you should check it out.

Thanks, for the info. Looks like I may have to figure out where the hc's end & where the tpb's begin & it looks like the site you referenced should help me do that. Thanks a lot.

I take it sales weren't so good for Hulk & Punisher but Marvel definitely has the right idea for these hc's. These, for me, are the perfect format & price. I wish DC would pick up on this. Instead they continue to release hc's in the same format & manner they did in the late 80's. Breaking the Jim Lee Batman & Superman runs into two regular sized hc's irks me to no end when they would be some much better in Marvel's format.

I have read the first couple of issues of Firestorm and don't like it at all. I'm dropping it and checking out Legion.

Wait, is the Ghost in the Shell TPB already out? I thought it wasn't coming out until next week.

I have read up to issue 7 and still not impressed.
Spoiler:
There was an Identity Crisis cross-over but I still felt it was a lackluster conclusion to the story. I assume that this is what you are referring to about Ronnie coming back.

We're talking about New Frontier, by the way.

I passed on it the first time around, but based on recommendations picked up the TPB and really enjoyed it. I think volume 2 is due out in May.

HC comes out in march. I would suggest waiting for that since the issues have taken so long to come out the prices may be inflated to much.

Teen Titans was one hell of a good read. Johns can really do no wrong.

Did anyone pick up "Hellblazer: All His Engines"? I'm a huge fan of the series and the character, but I'm not sure I want to drop the money for a hardcover right now?

I really wish they wouldn't market the shit out of this with the variant covers for new avengers and telling what is essentially a 2-3 issue story over the span of 7-8 issues. Come on bendis, try some better pacing.

The only comics I buy are Invincible and Y: The Last Man in trade format. I was considering Conan and a new series called The Guardians (I read the first issue online -- it was average but the story has potential).

Starting reading the tpb for Hard Time over the weekend. A very different kind of comic and interesting read.

Is anybody reading it and can comment on how the series has been progressing? In other words, worth a spot on my pull-list?

??? I have the opposite reaction, the prison break is a big story that I would love to have more of. Personally, I would have liked more time spent coming up with a clever way of breaking them out in the first issue. Also, I got #3 in the mail this weekend and they're already done with the breakout. While I was disappointed with that, I have to say Bendis and his artists don't seem to do such a great job with big action scenes. IMO, #3 was much better than the first 2. I love Bendis, but he either needs to get a co-writer or better artists for his action scenes. Actually, Bendis just announced McNiven is going to be the artist for NA 7-9 and it's going to be all about Sentry. That should be good.

I just bought spawn, breach, and superman/batman

Spawn = was going to drop this but the story picked up. I started in between the 1000 clowns story line and have no idea what the hell is going on but it looks good.

Breach = only read a few pages and so far so good. It has the preacher vibe to it.

Superman/Batman = No idea where they are going but last few pages were great.

Not sure I will stay long with any of these. I was hoping for something like The Maxx, Cerebus or Astro City. Not sure if comics like those still exist.
