Only bought about 5 of the first 8 or so. I think I'll convert to digital for the ones I missed. They'll be on sale for $5 each soon.

All that potential Peanuts money is going towards the collected Judge Dredd volumes.

I only bought through '72 and feel bad about it, but I've read hardly any of them. I should probably start throwing them on my wish list one double-volume at a time.

Damn, you're right, depending on your "first page" settings. I recognize Nick Danger and Tom Opus.

Are all of these still in print? Or is it too late to try to get in on the hardcover slipcase game?

The individual volumes are all still on the website. There are some gaps in the slipcases, but you might be able to get them elsewhere.

If you're interested, think seriously about getting them while you have a chance. I imagine that the license to print them will eventually expire.

Re: The One and Only: The Complete Peanuts Collection - 1950-2000

Saw a bunch of these on the shelf at my LCS. I have to say that I was really tempted, even though I am not the biggest Peanuts fan. They also had several of the paperback editions, but they were only a couple dollars cheaper.

Now I'm regretting not picking up some of those Fantagraphics half-price gift cards over the holidays and filling in some of these volumes.

They've done some reprints of the slipcase versions but like Nick Danger said, you don't know how long they will be able to reprint them.

Re: The One and Only: The Complete Peanuts Collection - 1950-2000

I have all of the Box Sets, except for 63-66 and 87-90 which I have not been able to find. I wish Fantagraphics would just reprint some of the slipcases so I could complete my collection before the final box set.

Third-pager here, and I have still bought exactly none.

I enjoyed the strips a kid, but looking at some of the regular collections in used bookstores over the years, I find myself not quite liking the tone sometimes. I realize it's about kids, and like South Park shows, sometimes kids are little bastards, but there's not enough of the goodness of the kids shown to contrast.

I still watch the Christmas special every year, but quite frankly the rest of them are like they're from a completely different universe sometimes. The strips have sparks of brilliance at times, but other times they're just filling in the blanks.

Schulz's influence and contributions to the world of comic strips cannot be stated enough, but personally speaking I just don't care to own more than a few best-of collections.

Page 2. I've got about 10 of them in hardback, picked up when I could find them on sale. I like them and my son reads them, they're definitely from a different era, but I still enjoy them. Always on the lookout for filling in the blanks cheaply.

There's no question that the kids are always cruel to Charlie Brown. But I think there's a fair amount of change since the strip went on so long. My local paper (yes, I'm still reading that) runs reprints, and I'm really enjoying the arcs of Snoopy being traded, going to the Grenoble Olympics, Lucy's crab-in, etc. The Grenoble Olympics were in 1968, so that's an era I can look into re-exploring in the hardcovers.

Re: The One and Only: The Complete Peanuts Collection - 1950-2000

First page. First post. Still here. :P

So, the final strips have been released in the volume with Obama doing the intro. People who were wondering what might fill the extra pages as there were only a few strips in 2000...well, pretty awesome bonus. ALL the Little Folks strips. Also, for those wanting to have ALL box sets, they will be releasing a special bonus volume / set later this year with a bunch of extra materials.

I like how they designed this to have Charlie Brown in the middle with all the other characters walking away from him on the spins (but the bonus one has him walking back )

To answer a question posted earlier, yes, I have every boxed set. Kinda sad that this will be the final set in the series.

I only have a few volumes past the Charlie Brown picture, so I never would have noticed. It makes me want to put the books on the shelf out of order to help the guy out.

It's great that Fantagraphics was able to do this whole project. I've seen too many collections where the publisher went out of business or ran out of money before completion.

So, today my 12-year quest has...ended!

Wow, looking back on this I'm going to miss this yearly tradition.

Thank you Charles M. Schulz

As a huge fan of the Peanuts, having collected various Snoopy books here and there, this collection is a dream come true. The extras in each book are a very nice addition, as well.

So, assuming this forum will still be around in 12 years, I figured I'd start this thread for all 25 volumes of the collection to discuss, laugh and point out our favorite stips.

So, I suppose the first question should be: Anybody else collecting these?
