Need recommendations on horror comic books
I'm in need of some recommendations for horror comic books. The only ones I have read so far is the new 30 days of night: return to barrow, a couple issues from the walking dead series, and the last issue of Route 666. Any help would be appreciated.

Walking Dead has a cheap TPB due shorting, with issues 1-6 for $10. You might also want to try anything Niles writes (author of 30 Days of Night), like Criminal Macabre, Wake the Dead, in addition to the original 30 Days of Night. There's also Dark Days, but I had mixed feelings about that one (it was too expensive in single issues, and despite being six issues, the plot felt stretched thin).

Although it's very different in style from "30 Days Of Night", I highly recommend Alan Moore's work on "Swamp Thing". The early work has a strong gothic horror vibe.

I picked up Hack/Slash #1 and Bite Club #1 today and I thought they were pretty good. hack/Slash i thought was kinda humorous in parts and the chick is kinda hot for a cartoon goth chick.

I'm a horror fanatic & feel the genre doesn't translate too well to comics. There are only TWO titles out right now that are truly worth getting every issue of. The Walking Dead which I just cannot praise enough. And the euro/horro/sci-fi anthology Metal Hurlant. The book just always delivers the most innovative stories, a million times better than any of the overrated Steve Niles books coming out.

Yeah, in case my post wasn't clear, the only one of those books I've read and can really recommend is 30 Days of Night. I was just trying to list the books in the genre I knew about. Personally, Criminal Macabre wasn't for me and Dark Days was merely ok. I can't wait to get the Walking Dead TPB tho.
