Cool news. Look forward to reading it!

I've written a few comics as well, but unfortunately the artist had better things to do with his time apparently, and the projects I wrote never got off the ground.
So if anyone out there's an artist....let me know ;) I would like to own my own comic publishing company as well actually, I feel that quality writing is essential for the future, both in books and on screen. Just look at all the trash that comes out of Hollywood these days. |
finshee - good luck with your aspirations.
Anyone read and review Akiko 50 yet? (he responds nonchalantly..... fingers drumming... ) ah hell - did anyone read this? |
Guess not...
:( |
I just finished it and I thought it was great. I liked your story better than the other one (although, as you mentioned in your bio, there is some bias -wink- ). It was a really sweet story. You and the Armstrongs did a great job.

Ok, just bumping because I'm also starting another thread and refer to this thread in it.

My Comic Story (Akiko #50 by Sirius)
I was published in Akiko #50 by Sirius comics in June 2003 as a comic writer. The illustrator recently put the story on his web site (albeit small and a little hard to read).
But I thought I'd share it here. Given you've probably never read the Akiko comic, some of the characters and situations may seem a bit strange, but I hope the story holds together anyway. Who knows, maybe this will make you check out an excellent comic book series! I saw this thread and went back and re-read your story in Akiko #50 and it is still excellent! I believe we may have briefly exchanged messages about this on the Compuserve Comics Forum when #50 first came out. I think I may have complained that the lettering was a little too condensed on page 35(which would be page #10 in your post) compared to the flow of the rest of the lettering but now I think I nit-picked too much as that full page of Akiko(as Princess Arialana) and Queen Kanashimi embracing is still great writing that overpowers my petty complaint I made earlier. Mark Crilley should turn the book over to you since he rarely publishes it anymore and you would keep up the quality I'm sure!

Keith - thanks.
Yes, I agree that page 10's lettering is WAY too small. As a side note, it was the last page illustrated by Matthew, so that may have been part of it... Nice to see some compuserve comic forum folks here! Take care, Seeker As for taking over the book - well, I could write it, but my stick figures probably wouldn't work for the art - I'd have to convince Matthew, or Mark, or someone to draw it! (Actually, the reason for Akiko hardly being published anymore has as much to do with the publishing company as Mark, but that's another story.) And thanks to whoever remembered the earlier thread and merged these! Good memory! (Better than mine!) |
