Edgar Rice Burroughs fans: ever read the comics?
I've just been doing some hunting online, and found that there are many Marvel Tarzan and John Carter of Mars comics out there. And, Dark Horse recently did some of their own.
Anyone ever read them? Are they worth reading/buying?

John Carter
I remember reading the 'John Carter' Marvel comics years ago. This must be from the early 80s or late 70's ? Anyway, I thought the John Carter Comics were good (but I must be forgiven if they turn out to be terrible - my memory isn't what it used to be) - it was actually the comics that got me into reading the John Carter series (although I've been stuck on 'Chessmen of Mars' for about 9 years now). Have a look at the earlier issues of the current run of 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' for more John C. stuff.

If you’re a hardcore fan of John Carter, check out the Beany and Cecil DVD. It’s got about a 10 second pencil test of a proposed Warlord of Mars cartoon on it. Plus you get to see where John Kricfalusi got most of his ideas from.
By the by (BTB) I named my favorite role playing game character when I was a kid after the sailor that stranded Tarzan’s parents: Black Michael.

Glad to hear it.
The first issue was a bit of a tease, just introducing John to the series, and not really getting into the stroy that much, so I can't wait to see where Alan and Co. goes with it.
