League of Extraordinary Gentleman Vol 2 #1 comes out the end of this month...just FYI.

DC making up for their biggest mistake ever, which was killing Jordan in the first place. Making him Spectre was a bit of a cop out though, but it was the easiest means to get him back into the DC world I guess.
I wrote an entire script for "Zero Hour 1/2" which showed that Hal Jordan "won" --- i.e. he accomplished what he set out to do.

It fit perfectly between Zero Hour 1 and Zero Hour 0 (remember the issues went in reverse).

I agree - what they did to Hal Jordan.... well... it sucked.

See? Shows you how out of touch I am, yet perceptive.

With all of Moore's past material to mine he goes for stuff he stole from other people. Yes, I know the combination of characters are supposed to be quirky, but it seems as if he's trying too hard. I suppose this is perfect material for Hollywood because the characters are already familiar.

I'd rather see a Top 10 vol 2. Kind of like Astro City, probably why I liked it so much.

But I tell you, as I start Akira Vol4 it blows them all away...

After more than a year away from comics, Crossgen was able to lure me back with their compendia collections. The increasing cost got me out in the first place, and these collections provided 10 comics for less than $10. Well, that lasted 3 months. Now both issue 4 of Edge and Forge will be bumped up to $11.95. Has there ever been a shorter amount of time that a title maintains it's price?

In their defense, they said they would raise the price to $11.95 all along. As for a shorter time between price changes, comics will often have cheaper prices for the 1st issue.

10 comics for $11.95 still isn't a bad deal.

Another series that may see a resurgence/expanded interest in the near future is the 3 or 4 issue (I'll check when I get home) miniseries "Bulletproof Monk" ('99, Image, IIRC). It's been picked up as a movie starring none other than Chow Yun Fat if rumors hold true. Not sure how they'll adapt the story to fit him -- a lot older than the main character unless they're just expanding on the title character who actually has little to do with the story.

I think it was issue #117. But don't quote me on that - since it was off the top of my head.

His run started with issue #114. Plus he did the New X-men annual.

3 years later...

It's interesting how some of these complaints sound so familar that they could be writen today about the state of comic books.
