Comic Question: Old G.I Joe Issue ??

I remember one issue I read years and years ago. It was Storm Shadow rescuing Snake Eyes. There was little or no dialogue in the entire issue.

Can anyone tell me what issue that was?

I have so far found GI Joe #21, which is the first appearance of Storm Shadow. The issue is completely silent, but is centered around Snake Eyes rescuing Scarlett from Destro's stronghold.

I shall look more, but I think I remember the one you are talking about.

Only other one I see is GI Joe #85, which features Storm Shadow on the cover. It is a semi-silent issue as Zartan attempts to kill Storm Shadow.

Thanks, AgtFox.

One part I remember is Snake Eyes being strung up on some torturing machine (or was it a mind reader?) in a Christ pose. He feigns death by dropping his heart rate.

I think this issue was at the same time the second edition Snake Eyes was sold. (I could never find it in stock.)

If you're talking Snake-Eyes second outfit, then you are talking about the Snake-Eyes trilogy of issues 94-96. I'm not sure if there is a silent part in that or not though.

If you want to know where I am finding my information, go here: http://www.yojoe.com/comics/joe/ There are a few other places I found as well.

Yeah, I went through that whole damn thing a few months back hoping one cover would ring a bell. None did.

Buddy, I think you just hooked me up.

Many thanks. I wonder how much that Ish sells for now?

[Edit]

I'll add this for anyone who's interested. The particular story I was thinking of is titled "Hush Job." Using Google and the issue #, I found a summary of it here: http://starwars-rpg.net/swfa/jmm/joe/yb3.html.

Definitely one of the coolest comics I've ever seen.

Just a heads-up in case you didn't know, but the G.I. Joe TPB v.1 should be out next Wedesday. It collects issues 1-10 of the original series.

v.2 should be out in June, collecting issues 11-20.

I've been looking forward to this because I had sold off all of my GI Joe comics when I was a teenager. Stupid teenagers...

It's on sale for $3.90 at http://www.milehighcomics.com . You have to do a search for GI Joe, not G.I. Joe.

Heh, I believe I have that issue. All of my G.I. Joes, Transformers, and TMNTs are in a drawer at my parents' house.

He did the same thing in an older issue I had. He was strapped to a mind reading machine and played dead. Issue #10.

Hmm.. interesting.. I have a bunch of GI Joe comics.. But I think I started collecting around issue 35 or so.... I think I have 35-something in the 80s. I'll have to check tonight.

They are sitting in my closet in a comic box and each issue is in a plastic bag.
