This Week's Comics (8/23-8/29)
A pretty disappointing week for me. I picked up:
Deadman: Dead Again #4 - Yes, I'm still reading it. And, yes, it still sucks.
Daredevil #22 - This books finally on time. Unfortunately, the creative team for this story arc aren't very good. Brian Michael Bendis takes over the writing chores soon. It's sure to be a great book then.
Promethea #16 - I wouldn't dream of saying a bad thing about Alan Moore, but.... This book started off great, but it seems to me that it's been floundering lately. The art is beautiful, but the story is going nowhere.
The Dead Boy Detectives #3 (of4) - Finally a decent Sandman spin-off! A great combination of humor and mystery. Ed Brubaker and Bryan Talbot are two of the most underrated people in the business today. Hopefully, this series will bring much-deserved attention to them both.
Powers #13 - A wonderful book. (Hell, even the letters column is great!) I have come to love Michael Avon Oeming's artwork. If he and Bendis can keep the quality at this high level, this book will be considered a classic in the field years from now.

I disagree with you on Daredevil. I think this arc is great! As for Bendis, he's good, but not great. I think Ult. Spider-Man is vastly overrated up to this point, Powers is good from what I've read (can't find back issues to catch up), and Elektra is promising

Oh, I had a chance to read the Fire TPB (Bendis) and I really liked it. Some of the art was a bit vague (especially towards the end), but I figure thats intentional. Anyhow, I thought it was decent
