It's been decades since I was in a book club, but I need to get back into reading books more and also need to socialize with my friends more. So I am going to try and start one, but would like to make it work well.

What have you done that didn't work and what did work?
How do you select books?
How do you structure discussion (if at all)?
How many people?

Basically, any advice on how to run or not run a book club would be awesome.
