OK this book is messing with my head.... I think I got it but would like to ask if someone can confirm my understanding of the book....

Spoiler:
I think it was spelled out toward the end but was the Terminus event/phenomenon moving closer to the present each time she cracked part of the case and Moss was the cause of it coming closer and closer to the present?

Also is the Epilog supposed to be a revised future that resolves her friends death as she was able to get back on the ship and stop Terminus from happening?
