I finished Caliban's War (book 2 of Expanse series). I still dont know where the name comes from.
Starting Book 3 of the series today

Finished:



Didn't like it as much as the first book. Since none of it takes place where all the interesting stuff is happening (Area X), it feels like one long side note. And the main character is frustratingly unengaging.

I'm still moving on to Book 3. It looks like we're back in Area X. And just browsing the chapter titles looks like we'll hear from a number of perspectives (the Biologist, the Psychologist/Director, Control, the Lighthouse Keeper ... even the Moaning Monster of the Swamp has a viewpoint chapter). So I'm still hopeful the author concludes things strongly, and maybe I'll look back on the second book more favorably (as its place in a bigger story rather than stand-alone).
