Re: What are you reading? September 2011
Had to give up on...
...and started this instead:
As far as Hammer of God goes, if an author can't get to the story by the time the book is half finished, then I'm done with it. I got tired of reading about stuff I'm apparently supposed to know in order to comprehend the actual story, I like Arthur C. Clarke but this one was a real stinker.
Douglas Adams should be a breath of fresh air... -kd5-

Re: What are you reading? September 2011
Finished:
I found it mediocre. One problem may have been I was reading the Author's Preferred Edition, since I found the book badly in need of some editing to tighten things up. That aside I still found the work immature both in style and substance.
A little bit into:
So far, so good.

Re: What are you reading? September 2011
I just finished my first audiobook the other day. It kind of feels like cheating, but I listened during work and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I just finished Bossypants - Tina Fey and now I'm listening to Life Itself - Roger Ebert.

Just finished:
And since I'm on a Heinlein kick lately (plus finally picked up a hardcover copy) moved on to:
I first read this in college (long ago) and really liked it. I'm curious to see how well it holds up.
