Sharing Kindle accounts

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at a Kindle for my wife I might get one as well. I know I've read that a Kindle book purchased can be shared by up to 5 units.

To do this (so we can share books) do we have to purchase them using the same Amazon account? Or can we purchase them from anywhere (Target) and then simply register them on the same Amazon account?

Re: Sharing Kindle accounts

I don't exactly understand your question, but my wife and I share our Kindle purchases between my Kindle, her iPod Touch and my iPhone. We buy the Kindle editions with the same Amazon account and you just have to register the devices to get them all recognized.

I don't have a Kindle however I have the app for my iPhone and the reader on my laptop and desktop. I am able to sync all three together if I download something so I would assume it would not matter where you buy the hardware at.
