Need recommendations for a gift
ok, so I'm shopping for a friend and I need some recommendations
My fried loves Clive Cussler novels/Jack Du Brol (most Cussler though), and reluctantly got into Dean Koontz, though he's quickly working his way through those as well. He's said that he might start in with Robin (Walker? The guy who writes medical mysteries)
Anyway, he really likes action novels like Cussler, so can anyone recommend some books?
I'm hoping to buy a sampling of authors for him for Christmas, so action/sci-fi novels are preferred
Thanks for any help

If hes into the pulpy action style, I'd recommend the Gabriel Hunt series. Also in the mystery genre go with Dennis Lehanes Gennaro and Kensie novels. If he has a sense of humor Lansdales Hap and Leonard novels are awesome. Check into Richard Beltzers "I Am Not A Cop". I really dug that one.

If he likes Cussler, I think James Rollins would be a good choice.

And if he has a high tolerance for outlandish often ridiculous stories, then Matthew Reilly is also good.

I second Rollins, as well as the Pendergrast novels by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. In order of publication they are:
Relic
Reliquary
Cabinet of Curiosities
Still Life with Crows
Brimstone - Part One of the Diogenes Trilogy
Dance of Death - Part Two of the Diogenes Trilogy
Book of the Dead - Part Three of the Diogenes Trilogy
The Wheel of Darkness
Cemetery Dance
