Reposting w/update... (I think you didn't see it the first time)

I'm just catching up, but on Q13 (the 2nd EQUALIZER), I was lumped with the Reverse Sheep people because I was in the upper half.

My answer was unique. Shouldn't I get a butt-load of negative bonus action, since that's what I understood would have happened during a normal Reverse Sheep question?

Update: And the last equalizer too. Reverse Sheep + Unique Answer = Profit!! right?

Re: Book Talk (Reverse) Sheep — The Rise and Fall of the Sheep Empire

Q17. R: Name a Stephen King book which has been turned into a film, made-for-TV movie, or miniseries. (Be sure to name the book, not the movie).

My thinking on this one is that any of the Richard Bachman movies are OK. Not OK, however, is anything based on a short story he wrote. For example, "Crouch End" from Nightmares & Dreamscapes was turned into a made-for-TV 1-hr special. That would not count. Anyone agree/disagree?

And what do you think of something like The Green Mile?

Re: Book Talk (Reverse) Sheep — The Rise and Fall of the Sheep Empire

I'm going to have to see how the game plays out, but I think I've gone from liking to disliking the equalizer questions. It certainly makes the standings more dynamic, but at the cost of skill or knowledge really mattering.

I think they make me less likely to play these games.

Ken, to keep my sanity this round and to finish this game in a day, I removed the Unique Answer Bonus.

I agree, which would disqualify The Shawshank Redemption...

I liked them more when they didn't have the multiplier. With the multiplier, it makes it a bit too extreme, like the higher (×6 and ×7) multipliers in the first Movie Sheep.

I think I will have them in the future, but not at multipliers this high.

I figured Nightmares & Dreamscapes would be ok, since it was a book and there was a television mini-series based on it of the same name. If not, it's not like I can be any more in last place.

I'm not too concerned. Once the "Equalizer" high wears off, I'll start sinking back towards the bottom.

If pseudonyms counted for the Crichton question, they should count here.

multiplier was the only thing that equalized it. the first two didn't cause much movement.

this game is full of a bunch of elitist bastards

They do. I specifically wrote in the rules that known pseudonyms are AOK.

That seems like a good compromise. The Michael Crighton results were ridiculous.

I say if you're going to have equalizer questions you should follow my example from Trek Sheep and not have multipliers on them. Without seeing them in action I had an intuitive understanding of the best way to utilize them.

Yes, yes we are.

And I don't think I have a chance of catching back up, particularly with Jason, at the very least, matching me on the final answer.
