What a fantastic book that was. Extremely bleak, yes, but the writing is just phenomenal. I love the ending, too. I'll probably pick this up and read it again soon.

I've again set it to one side, this time to read Richard Morgan's successor to "Altered Carbon", "Broken Angels".

I just started this:

I have The Road ordered. I can't wait to read it, as I've heard nothing but praise

Was this originally titled, The Glory Bus?

There's a Laymon thread floating around here somewhere.

Currently reading "Moonrunner", a werewolf novel which I bought on impulse in a used book store. Have read more than half of its 300 pages and so far it's just so-so.

Finished it yesterday. Went and bought part two today... I figure if I wait to long I'll just forget everything.

What a good start to a series in any case.

I too, just finished The Road. Great from start to finish and I still get emotional thinking about it. The best thing I've read in a long time.

Last book finished:

This was a pretty good book, very sad considering the subject matter. My only problem throughout the book was that I didn't feel any connection with anyone in it - it always felt like you were outside looking in, and as a result I didn't really feel anything when the book ended.

I'm taking a break from The Count of Monte Cristo to read a book I got for Christmas:
