Batman 646

My daughter just got me back into batman comics. The first one I read was BAtman #646. I havent read it probably since 98. This is probably a stupid question but its been driving me kinda nuts. In the first few pages of the book Batman is trying to difuse a bomb in a building being used as a meth lab. As he is doing it someone is talking to him over a loud speaker telling him to give up. They show his face a few times and I couldn't figure out who it was. It looked somewhat like Nightwing but i didn't know for sure.
I did a search but for some reason it wouldnt load so if this has already been talked about in another thread, i apologize.
Thanks

Try this.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...lance&n=283155

or track down Batman Issues 635-641 (and on).

Also, the upcoming Batman Annual will fill in the gaps as to how Jason Todd came back and what he's up to.

AND the HUSH storyline also has some background as well (apparently).

He's also a major player in the upcoming One Year Later Event.

Thanks. I've been calling the comic book places around here to see if they have Hush and a few other Batman TPBs. Luckily I live near a Great Escape in Louisville that has a lot of stuff. Which is cool since i can't get rid of some old dvds for some comics, since i've become more of a comic junkie than a movie junkie.
I've been telling myself that i'm limiting myself to Batman and nothing else(maybe other stuff in the Gotham storyline). Since i used to pick up between 5-10 titles every week. Hopefully i can stick to that. Unless Daredevil is worth reading again, and maybe Flash and Green Lantern.

The resurrected Jason Todd first appeared in Hush and again briefly in Judd Winick's first Batman arc, As the Crow Flies

As the crow flies was more of hints. Since it makes no sense how he would really be in the batmobile. Go all the way to HUSH and then jump to UNDER THE RED HOOD. Pay close attention to his blade and then if you look at the one year later cover for nightwing you'll notice something similar.

Mods? Benedict? Should we fold this discussion into our Comic thread for January?

http://www.comicon.com/pulse/

Anyway the site above has a Bruce Jones interview on OYL Nightwing. I'm not sure what to make of this quote by him.

THE PULSE: OK, we get the idea. DC's solicits said you'll be bringing us a Nightwing "like you've never seen before!" That seems to be what everyone's shooting for, and a lot of the text we see to describe new creative teams or new characters. How is this a Nightwing like "we've never seen before"?

JONES: It’s a play on words. The problem is, if I go into detail about the metaphor it spills the surprise. A lot of people seem to think that Jason Todd is Nightwing now, but believe me they’re in for a big shock.

THE PULSE: SO if it's not Jason Todd and it might not be Dick Grayson, just who is this Nightwing?

JONES: The Shadow knows.

Well, yeah, but then neither was he in Hush. But it all relates to the Red Hood build-up.

well, according to Winick Jason Todd was actually in HUSH.. he just switched out with clayface at the moment of the chase.

The hints of the knife on the cover of NIGHTWING OYL being that of Jason todds from all his stories that it can't be anyone but him. the pulse interview just seems tossed in there to defusee the solved mystery.

Thought for the Day: Can they really be called "Annuals" when the last one was published in 2000?

Maybe, No-More-Than-Annual?

Maybe the Nightwing cover isn't the final cover and they're just trying to trick people or maybe the new Nightwing killed Jason Todd.
