Glen Cook: The Tyranny of the Night
Hey all,
Just started this series - a surprise Father's Day gift from my wife. Anyone else reading/read it and have thoughts? So far (pg 25 or so) lots of detail in an interesting pseudo-Middle Ages/Crusades Earth analog.

I'll have to check this out. I liked his Black Company stuff, and while the reviews make it sound like Cook throws you in the deep end without a rope, I dug Erikson's Malazan, which threw you in the deep end without a rope and with a bunch of lead weights.

I've added the first few of his Garrett, PI books to my wishlist to tide me over until the next Harry Dresden instalment and which I belatedly note that was recommended here a decade ago by former booktalk stalwart Startide...
While looking at comments in various places across the web, I saw that GC's harder-edged fantasy is also acclaimed and regarded by some as breaking the ground later trod by a number of authors well-liked in this forum. From what I could see he has several series on the go.
