What does this mean??

Looking at a used book and the description says in part "...Shows some signs of wear and is no longer fresh." No longer fresh? WTF does this mean?

Another term I've seen lately and don't understand is "Library Edition". I would have thought that would be a hardcover with an extra heavy duty binding but it was applied to a paperback.

I think no longer fresh means the the binding has been cracked by being read and shows some wear.
