Just picked up my issue of Entertainment weekly and there was a small article on Dennis. He is writing for HBO's series The Wire and he talks about that a little. But at the end of the article he talks about his next book.

" A huge book set during the Boston police strike in 1919. My gut says it's part of a trilogy or quartet, but I've been writing it extremely slowly because I'm going in a very, very different direction. So I can't screw up. Because that would be bad."

Not good news for Kenzie-Gennaro fans. On a side note the interviewer mentions that Paramount has optioned the series for Ben Affleck to write! Dennis seemed less than thrilled with this, confirming only that Paramount has the option but he has no idea when or if a movie will happen.

I'll hold judgement for this new series when it comes out, but as a rule I'm not a big fan of stuff set back that far in time. But if anyone can make it work Lehane can.

I'm not sure how much Matt Damon wrote, and how much Affleck did, but Good Will Hunting is a great script. Maybe he can pull it off.

New book (series) sounds interesting. It'll be a while until we ever read it. I still have the last three Kenzie series books to read, plus Shutter Island. Hopefully when this comes out, I'll be done.

Glad to hear he's keeping busy. Looking forward to his upcoming 'trilogy'.
