Heart of a Soldier by James B Stewart
non-fiction. Follows the lives of two guys that meet in Africa before Vietnam, end up going to OCS together then on to Vietnam. They were platoon leaders in the battle that is in the movie We Were Soldiers. The main guy ends up being at the WTC on 9/11
