MUST READ Business Books?

Hi All,

I am going on multiple lengthly international flights within the next two weeks so I figure I should catch up on my reading.

What are some 'must read' business, leadership, project management related books?

Famous books such as "Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People".

(also that size since I don't want to be lugging huge novels on the plane)

Thanks!

I have Bill Lucas' "Power Up Your Mind" on my to-read pile. (Actually I loaned it to a senior manager )

Review

I attended a seminar he gave several months ago and found him to be a very engaging speaker.

Good to Great and Built to Last -- both are by Jim Collins.

Built to Last came out first, but according to Collins it's the sequel to Good to Great.

This book is/was popular in Business circles and was written by a legendary Samurai hundreds of years ago.

Many read it because it's about being a winner.

"The Book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi

From Amazon...

Setting down his thoughts on swordplay, on winning, and on spirituality, legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi intended this modest work as a guide for his immediate disciples and future generations of samurai. He had little idea he was penning a masterpiece that would be eagerly devoured by people in all walks of life centuries after his death. Along with The Art of War by Sun Tzu, The Book of Five Rings has long been regarded as an invaluable treatise on the strategy of winning. Musashi's timeless advice on defeating an adversary, throwing an opponent off-guard, creating confusion, and other techniques for overpowering an assailant was addressed to the readers of earlier times on the battlefield, and now serves the modern reader in the battle of life.

Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan

Basically, it has good business sense and strategy (the sorts of things you would usually get) but it focuses on HOW it all really works in the workplace, albeit from the CEO level. I'd say it would be invaluable for project management.
