Looks like very little recent action on the Book Club thread so I'll cut this one loose for now. But if anyone felt like starting a part two, including a summary of all the good bits from here....

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
About 10 years ago, I had QPB and SFBC accounts. I don't recall having any problems with unwanted monthly selections. I did, however, discover that I wasn't keeping up with the reading very well and allowed both accounts to lapse. A few years ago, I resurrected my QPB account and it seemed I couldn't stop the monthly selections from coming. I eventually got them to stop automatically taking the payment for these titles, but I still had the hassle of having to mark unwanted selections "return to sender" and wait for them to be removed from my billing history.
It didn't help that our mailman at the apartment was completely worthless, and I'm fairly confident most of those selections I didn't want came because he failed to turn in my rejection cards. He could be seen, each day in his truck, reading magazines before delivering them. Half of them were tattered by the time he shoved them into the boxes, and they often weren't yours, anyway. I remember one neighbor from the next building once brought me a DVD we'd ordered from Netflix. He'd watched it first!

There's a neat book club idea I just discovered through a webseries, oddly enough. CBS does this show online called "Novel Adventures" about four women in a book club who go on book related adventures. For example, if you read a book like "Eat, Pray, Love" with your book club, you might then host a yoga party (or Italian food potluck if you're me, haha). Basically, create an outing for the club which combines a theme of the book. I thought it was a really great concept to keep it fresh!
It's a great series too if you want ideas...I've only seen about 4 episodes, but they had some fantastic book recommendations and suggestions: Novel Adventures

I know I mentioned a "part two" but, in its absence, I thought jacob_b might derive some benefit from looking through the rest of this, hence the merger/bump.
If someone wants to manage an updated clubs thread, just drop me a line and I'll sticky it if you're able to commit to keeping it updated/current.
