Are you going to see Mystic River?

The cast seems pretty solid...

Sean Penn .... Jimmy
Tim Robbins .... Dave
Kevin Bacon .... Sean
Laurence Fishburne .... Whitey

I think they picked the perfect person to play Jimmy, but I think I would have rather seen Robbins and Bacon switch roles.

I have my reserves on this one because I think Clint Eastwood bungled Blood Work, but I'm willing to give him another chance.

Tell me that's not how you envisioned Jimmy.

Well, the advance word on the movie is excellent so I might be interested, but I agree with you that Eastwood's last few directorial outings have left a lot to be desired. Maybe this will be his return to form finally.

I just read the book last month and I'd say it's one of the best books I've ever read, so I am dying with anticipation to see the film. I agree, Sean Penn looks like Jimmy. But I don't see Tim Robbins as Dave at all.

I'll certainly be seeing it. From what i've heard it's received very good reviews and I agree that Sean Penn is perfect for Jimmy. I can see Tim Robbins being able to pull off Dave or at least that type of character but I have doubts about Kevin Bacon playing Sean. But who knows how much the characters in the movie will resemble the ones in the book.
