Need suggestions for a FUN book

Been reading alot of depressing books lately, and would like to change it up with something more fun (but with substance).

Something along the lines of Motherless Brooklyn, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Nick Hornsby's books, etc.

I'm already looking forward to picking up John Farrell's The Best a Man Can Get, but need more books for my spring/summer reading binge.

I don't know about substance, but for fun, you can't do any better than the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. The first is called One For the Money. They are laugh out loud funny.

I second what Beavismom said, Plum's books are pretty light fare.

Elmore Leonard books are pretty fun.

Jurassic Park is definitely fun. I have read it every summer since it came out. I love it.

Try "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" or any of Douglas Adams' books.

Read Adams already? Try some stuff from Harlan Ellison.

The Vlad Taltos books by Brust (i think? maybe Barnes?). They are light and a lot of fun.

Pest Control or The Organ Grinders, both by Bill Fitzhugh.

Very funny, but with substance. I like the former better. It's about a struggling exterminator who is mistaken for a ruthless hitman due to a poorly worded classified ad.

Honk!
