Short Stories and Lit. Mag's

I am an aspiring writer my question is, what are some Literary Magizines I should look into not only for personal insight but for venues for short story submission as well.

Thank you any who reply.

You should check out one of the annual books like "Best American Short Stories." They have a list in the back of all the literary magazines. Also check out the stories and see where they were published.

for places to submit, pick up the 2003 Writer's Market and the 2003 Novels and Short Stories Market, available at most any bookstore.

And read tons of short stories. Read, read, read.

Maybe Geoff can provide a DVDTalk-friendly link for the above titles?

After attempting a couple of "mystery" shows (Snoops, Level 9) I have now settled in over at Judging Amy, on CBS.

Promoted as a chick show, and it is for the most part, about every 4th or 5th episode we get to do a decent mystery story born out of the foster care system.

Still, I'd rather be writing Connelly type stuff.
