Well, I read The Cellar over the weekend and I enjoyed it. While The Midnight Tour was scarier IMO, The Cellar filled in some gaps for me.

Just started The Stake. It's been awhile since I've read a vampire novel. I'm looking forward to reading Laymon's spin on the legend.

Just started reading In the Dark. It's been a while (too long) since I've read a Laymon novel.

Finished The Stake a couple of hours ago. I can't get over how good this book was. Just an amazing read. I turned the pages so fast, I left burn marks. An absolute must for Laymon fans and horror fans alike.

I just can't get enough of his books. I picked up the Traveling Vampire show and finished it in one day. I did the same with Island, Night in the Lonesome October, Darkness, Tell Us, and One Rainy Night. Oh well atleast I still have Bith and Among The Missing to hold me over before another run to the bookstore.

I just finished Night Show in 2 1/2 hours. Not bad. Not one of his best, but still had some good stuff. After just having finished The Stake, I think anything would have paled in comparison.

Finished In the Dark last night. I thought it was just ok - definitely Grade B Laymon, IMO.

I'm all out of Laymon books for now. I'll have to pick up some more soon!

Finished Triage today. Richard's story was very cool. Read all 100 pages in an hour. Ed Lee's story was also good. Great ending. Ketchum's story was funny.

Starting Laymon's Beware!.

I have to add a "me too" here. I'd never heard of Richard Laymon before I saw this thread a few weeks ago. I went to the local library website and put "The Travelling Vampire Show" on my hold list. I picked it up a few days, and WOW! Great story, very fast read.
Like a few others on this thread, it won't be the last time I pick up one of Laymon's books.

Have any of y'all read Bentley Little? His writing style seems very similar to Laymon's. I'm reading University right now and some of the deaths in this book are very Lamonesque.

I've only read The Walking by Bentley Little. It was good, but I didn't think it was as ballsy as Laymon.

I haven't read The Walking yet, although I do own it. Check out University. There is some sick **** going on in that book.

You can't go wrong with any of Bentley Little's books. My favorites are The Ignored and The Store.

He has a new one coming out in September called The Policy.

I was in a used book store the other day and was amazed to find a 1st edition of "Tread Softly" for 1/2 the cover price. Can't wait to read it.

Just finished No Sanctuary, one of his last books.

Very raw, unflinching last few chapters. Classic Laymon build-up and free-for-all conclusion. Another winner.

I have this in my "to-read" pile - can't want to start on it!

Hey guys...anyone read any more Laymon titles recently? This week, I started in on To Wake the Dead (aka Amara). I'm only 100 pages in thus far, but it's off to a solid start.

Also, I was checking out "Richard Laymon Kills!" and here's the line-up for 2004:
  • March 2004: Body Rides
  • April 2004: The Lake Hodder Headline Hardback (1st Edition UK and Aust)
  • July 2004: Endless Night from Leisure Books (First US paperback printing)
  • September 2004: The Lake from Leisure Books (1st US Hardback printing)
  • Late 2004: Madman Stan and Other Stories Hardback short story collection (CD Pubs)
