Demon In The Freezer - you want scary?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Richard Preston's The Demon In The Freezer, and it is frightening stuff, to say the least.

Much like what he did to raise fears about Ebola with The Hot Zone, this one addresses a far bigger, more potent fear: smallpox

i read a review of this book and a guy who read it told me some stuff about it and it is indeed scary but also just kinda paranoia. if the alterened smallpox virus got out it'd be terrible but still the chances of it getting out are slim, however still possible.

The fact that a supposedly eradicated deadly virus still exists is reason enough to believe it could happen, especially since the Soviet Union had an illegal stockpile of smallpox in the late 1980s/early 1990s (tested as part of a viral-tipped warhead payload ) that is not fully accounted for.

Paranoid? Maybe a little, but it's not outside of the realm of possibility.
