The Grapes of Wrath
This question is directed toward all that have read the book AND watched the movie :
Does the movie depict the book accurately?
I have to read this book, but my lazy ass can't bring myself to do it, so to avoid reading the 500 pages, I'd like to take some sort of a short cut.

teachers know what differences there are between the book and movie and cliff notes so they can always ask certain questions and know if you actually read the book or not

take your pick both are good IMO.
I'd imagine that some might flame you for not reading the book. But I don't blame you I've been in your position before. Had to read a book but had so much other stuff to worry about that I just read the spark/pink monkey notes and aced the test.

All the intermediate chapters are gone in the film (like the animal crossing the road). The sister who is pregnant miscarries in the book yet still fullfills the mother role because she nurses a man who is dying of hunger.
There are a bunch of differences. I recommed you watch the movie and read the cliffs notes and you will get a good idea of whats not in the book. I wrote a paper on this for a film class. I'll see if I can track it down.
Watch Grapes. Fantastic film.
