Need Advice! Tom Clancy / Jack Ryan Timeline

Hey, I can really use the help of any Clancy fans out there. Saw Sum of All Fears in the theater, and like all Ryan flicks, I said "Well, that wasn't too terrible. I bet the book is fantastic!" So finally, after years of recommendations, I am taking the leap and getting into the Clancy universe.

My question is: in what order should I read the books? I know some have been published out of the linear timeline, so I don't want to just rely on the publication dates.

I also know that Without Remorse takes place before most (all?) the others, but wondered if maybe that would have more impact reading it later, like a "prequel" after I have gotten to know Clark a bit more.

So, any suggestions? If anyone could reply with a timeline of the Clancy books' events, I would be much obliged.

Thanks.

[Oooops....]

Could someone post the chronological order for Tom Clancy's series with Jack Ryan?

And from elsewhere this is what I just found:

Patriot Games
Red Rabbit (comes out August 2002 per Amazon)
The Hunt for Red October
The Cardinal of the Kremlin
Clear and Present Danger
The Sum of All Fears
Debt of Honor
Executive Orders
The Bear and the Dragon

If you have any more queries you might like to bounce the older thread

Definitely start off with Patriot Games, and it really does not matter when you read Without Remorse, but do read that and Rainbow Six because they are both excellent off-shoots of the series

Not a fan myself. But maybe this will help (or confuse) further...
