Anyone here read Rumi?

Supposedly he's the most widely read poet in America. For those who don't know, he was a 13th century Persian mystic. I haven't read any of his poems but I'm really curious as to why he's so popular in America. I'm sure some of us here have read his poetry. How is it? Why do you think he's so popular? Anyone recommend any of his particular works?
