Black Simarillion aka "Black Book of Arda"
query: Black Book of Arda
This is a question for those who might know how to get a hold of the Black Book of Arda. In the 1990's, two young Russian women in the early 1990s wrote the Black Simarillion also known as the Black Book of Arda, which retells the events of the Silmarillion from the perspective of the evil characters Melkor and Sauron. I'm a sucker for alternate history retellings like these.
It was released illegally in Russia as the copyrights to publish it formally are held by the Tolkien estate. Thus, it may be very hard to find across the Pond. It seems to have gotten multiple reprintings in Russia, as someone indicated they had a 2001 edition reprint.

Please let me know if I can download the cyrillic file. At that point, it might be possible to put it into a rough automated translator program (one of the "pay" ones).
