I started my book.
Can't say what it's about, but at least I started it. I'm on the first paragraph
BTW a little background. I've written poetry since I was 9 and my dream is to have a book published.
Anyone else here a spiring writer? Written anything? Any books about how to write books that you recommend? I'm going back to school in the Fall to take some advanced creative writing courses.

I have a few ideas that I really want to flesh out, but just do it in small chunks. I am certainly no writer, so I take it slowly and will probably never do anything with them.

From: In my secret underground lair, plotting to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! Bwuaaahahahaha!!
I have a finished book waiting on a friend to do the artwork.
It is kind of a humorous picture book for adults (not porn, just not for young kids.)

Deb,
First, congrats! Go for it!
Second, imo, one of the absolute BEST books ever written about how to write is Stephen King's "On Writing."
First half is his life story (more or less) and the second half is a great instructional on the craft of writing. Pick it up - it's a fast read and will inspire you.
good luck!

Page and a half
I was starting On Writing, and something I read (when he is remembering something that happened when he was little) brought something into mind and I wrote half a page where the words just flowed. It was right. It was perfect. I'm following good advice and writing snipplets
Then I can put it all together. I'm going to read all the books he recommends in that book. I just finished the ear incidence.
POW!
