Help me identify this book!

Warning, I remember very little. Something I read back in high school.

I recall sanitary workers and street sweepers, it was set in the future perhaps on another planet. I think it was a very conformist society, and I think someone got in trouble for leaving there "town"

Good luck, I would like to read it again if I could find out what it is was.

Reminds me of "Momo" by Michael Ende, but that was about folks in suits stealing time from you...

sounds in the category of utopian/dystopian book categories...
