I recently played a game called Rex, an offshoot of the Twilight Imperium series. I felt like the game had a very Dune feel to it, so I looked into it and discovered that the game was actually based on a 1979 Dune board game. The gaming company got the rights to the game system/rules, but not the Dune name or characters. It's quite a lot of fun if you're into tabletop games.
As a result, I started looking into the Dune universe again, having not read any of the books in many years (and never reading the KJA/BH books). I felt like there was a lot of material out there about the mythology of Dune, but not a lot of actual literary criticism. I was thinking of starting a blog where I would analyze and dissect all the Dune books (and the movie and miniseries, because why not?), but approach it more from a critical perspective, as opposed to that of a fan. Would anyone be interested in reading something like that?
