i went to a reading/signing for his new novel, "American Gods," tonight. he started off with a reading (which was great) and a Q&A (i asked about the "High Cost of Living" screenplay progress) before the signing began. between my girlfriend and myself, we got a bunch of stuff signed, including my copy of Sandman #8. Neil was extremely friendly and talkative when we finally got up to the table, dispite the long line of people the came before us (and the long line waiting behind us). He also did some nice little doodles in each of the books. All in all, a wonderful evening. We can't wait for Bruce Campbell on Friday and Chuck Palahniuk next Thursday. Yay for book signings!

i'm a terrible judge of crowd sizes, but i'd guess it was at 100? 125? i've been thinking about his voice all day. i look forward to starting "American Gods" once i finish Puzo's "Godfather."

I LOVED American Gods. I managed to get an advanced copy a few months ago and devoured it.

I would love to see him do a reading from it. Unfortunately he's not coming anywhere near Michigan on his signing tour.

On a very short list that I would drive quite a distance to see are Ross/Miller/O'Barr/Gaiman. I really have to move.

I just started American Gods. It is one of those rare books that hooks me after the first 2 paragraphs.

I checked out his website http://www.neilgaiman.com and realized that all the travelling I will be doing in the next 3 months, I will be in 7 of the cities he will tour. Unfortunately, I am anywhere from 3 to 6 days behind him.
