This is the book I am looking forward to, the sequel to American Tabloid, James Ellroys best IMHO.
Has anyone read it? Is it up there with AT? Any reviews would be appreciated(except at Amazon, I've read those).

I didn't think it was released yet. I thought it was in the next week or two. I certainly will read it though.

Got and am slowly working through it...good so far but I don't have too much free-reading time in any given day.

I am also working through it now. Trying to take it slowly so I can enjoy it.

I'm disappointed in this book. It is a good book but to come from Ellroy well I expect a lot better. The Demon Dog lost some of his bite with this one.

I picked it up at the library, and it nearly broke my arm. At 600+ pages, I just dont have the time to get into a novel that long right now. I'm in more of a pulp mood, but please keep this thread going. Keep writing reactions as you finish the novel.

went to a book signing in Chicago the other day and had a chance to talk to James Ellroy for about 15 minutes...really nice guy. When he does his stops, he has been showing a documentary called feast of death and, at least at the Chicago show, he hung out outside and signed books for the hour. Great speaker too. A lot of fun

Ellroy is scheduled on Conan this week. He is always a great profane guest.
